✦ Local Lake Cathie resident, 12 year-old Patrick Dale, 2022 Top 5 Tween Entrepreneur in Australia, Business Owner and Creator of Sweet Tooth Marshmallows continues to grow and develop his business.

A number of achievements have occurred in the past month including his Chocolate Marshmallows being awarded a Gold Medal at the 2023 Sydney Royal Fine Food Awards. He has also been successful in securing Silver Medals for his coffee and vanilla bean lamingtons in the same awards.

Continuing success

Patrick has been invited to attend the 2023 Global Entrepreneur Congress in Melbourne commencing next week. The Global Entrepreneurship Congress is four days of actionable intelligence, collaboration and collective action. It brings together thousands of voices, from more than 200+ countries to participate in creating one inclusive global ecosystem by networking, learning and sharing. This congress brings over 4,000 people to Melbourne.

Invited as a young Australian entrepreneur, Patrick will showcase to the world his business journey, collaborate with other entrepreneurs and grow his network.

All attendees make invaluable connections that grow their footprint in entrepreneurship and innovation ecosystems around the world.

A simple question started it all

Why are there no chocolate marshmallows and why do shop-bought marshmallows lack flavour?

Patrick told us, " Sweet Tooth Marshmallows started in November 2021 where, with the help of my Mum and after two months of testing, we created a unique recipe for Sweet Tooth Marshmallows not available in shops."

Based on family and friends feedback, Patrick launched his business in January 2022 at local markets on the Mid North Coast. He has created over 16 flavours, with all flavours, not available in shops.

Sweet Tooth Marshmallows have expanded to include a range of associated marshmallow products including rocky road, marshmallow pops, chocolate marshmallow hearts, marshmallow domes and bites of heaven, to name a few.

A busy journey to be proud of

The opportunity to attend the 2023 Global Entrepreneurship Congress, would not have been possible without Young Change Agents involvement.

Patrick said “My business journey has been so much fun, learning about business, meeting my customers, connecting with mentors and creating a delicious marshmallow product”.

He is proud of his achievements to date and looks forward to the opportunity to be involved in Global Entrepreneur Congress, meeting other Entrepreneurs and having the opportunity to showcase his business in the Youth Entrepreneur Congress component in Melbourne.

Patrick's primary business goal is to have his products in cafes and restaurants in the next 1-2 years and in supermarkets within 5 years.

Keynote Speaker at Micro Business Forum 20th Anniversary

Patrick was invited to be the keynote speaker at Micro Business Forum's 20th Anniversary celebration to share his insights on A Roadmap from Ideas to Successful Business at Charles Sturt University.

Patrick can be found at the Foreshore Markets in Port Macquarie and Laurieton Riverwalk Markets in Laurieton each month. He also attends markets in Taree and Old Bar and community events at different times throughout the year.
