✦ A warm hello from Bernie Ginnane, Counsellor, Spiritual Life Coach, Meditation Facilitator, for the month of July.


This month I wanted to focus on ways to incorporate mind, body and spirit self-care practices into your daily life so that you are better able to super-charge your business. Having a personalised and achievable self-care routine can be a valuable resource available to you every day. 


And this month we also have International Friendship Day on 30th July. So, I decided to join the two themes together as both relate to each other.

International Friendship Day is a reminder of the importance of friendships with others.

Friendships in our family and social arenas. Friendships in the work place. Friendships in the community.


It is also a reminder of THE IMPORTANCE OF BEING A GOOD FRIEND TO ONESELF FIRST BY

  1. Prioritising Self-Care. Have a personalised and achievable plan. 

  2. Be Self-Aware.

  3. Choose and Commit to Positive and Heathy Choices for one’s mental and physical wellbeing.

  4. Create and Maintain Positive Boundaries. When you are your best friend first, you are better able to be a positive and empowering friend for another, as well as the best resource for your business.


It starts with a Choice.

Your Choice to Choose to Make Each Moment Count.

Your Choice to Choose to Make Each Decision Count.

Your Choice to Choose to Make Each Day Count.

And this impacts not only your mind, body and spirit, but your business.


6 WAYS TO BE YOUR BEST FRIEND NOT ONLY ON INTERNATIONAL FRIENDSHIP DAY BUT EVERY DAY.

🙏🏻 BE AWARE OF NEGATIVE SELF-TALK AND CHOOSE POSITIVE SELF-TALK.


🙏🏻 EAT WELL. GET ENOUGH SLEEP WELL. 


🙏🏻 CHOOSE TO MEDITATE. CHOOSE TO BE MORE MINDFUL. Even for a few minutes a day. Or practice the 1-minute five times a day. Or two 5-minute meditations a day. Or start and end your day with a short meditation.This practice will definitely help you to manage stress and anxiety, be more present and enjoy an increased sense of well-being and calm in your life. 


🙏🏻 INCORPORATE EXERCISE INTO YOUR DAILY ROUTINE. Even a DAILY 15-minute mindful walk or run, join a yoga or a Pilates class, or take a few minutes to practice some mindful stretching.  


🙏🏻 LEARN TO BE OKAY WITH SAYING, ‘NO.’ AND LEARN TO BE OKAY WITH SAYING, ‘YES’. This is so important to be able to maintain positive healthy boundaries with yourself and others and will help to prevent potential burnout, resentment, overwhelm and anxiety.


🙏🏻 TAKE A BREAK. Have a hobby. Go on an adventure, even a walk around your area. Listen to calming or inspirational music.  Make sure to disconnect, relax and re-charge.

6 WAYS TO INCORPORATE WELLNESS AND SELF-CARE PRACTICES INTO YOUR DAILY ROUTINE SO THAT YOU SUPERCHARGE NOT ONLY YOURSELF BUT YOUR BUSINESS.


🔆 HAVE A PLAN. AND COMMIT TO IT. Create and maintain a personalised and achievable self-care routine. 


🔆 CHOOSE HEALTHY CHOICES. Get enough sleep. Choose healthy dietary options. 


🔆 TAKE A BREAK. Go for a 5-minute walk outside. Better still a 10-minute walk.


🔆 INCORPORATE A MINDFULNESS PRACTICE AND MEDITATION INTO YOUR DAY. This practice will definitely help you to manage stress and feelings of overwhelm as well as help you to stay focused on the present moment. Start your day with a Positive Mindset Meditation.

  • Choose to set aside 3-minutes three times a day to sit and focus on your breathing.

  • Count One on your In-Breath.

  • Count One on your Out-Breath.

  • Continue to count reaching 20 rounds of breath.

 🔆 CREATE A MINI WELLNESS SPACE. Switch off your phone. For one hour a day. Create a phone-free zone. Bring a couple of indoor plants into your work area. Have on hand a couple of inspirational books to read a paragraph or two. On a whiteboard, write a Positive Mantra for your Week. Maybe have a yoga mat ready for a mini stretch. Or mini rest.


🔆 COMMIT TO A 30-DAY CHALLENGE. Make sure this is personalised and achievable for yourself and keep a track of your progress. Maybe enlist an accountability buddy or mentor. A 30-Day Challenge can help shift a negative habit and initiate a new positive routine, as well as promote self-discipline, determination, focus and a sense of achievement at the end of the Challenge. This can be a great opportunity to celebrate your wins and build self-confidence and optimism, which will not only reinforce you being your best friend, but also super charge your business.
