✦ A fruity formal for all LGBTQ+ high school aged youth!
In a bid to create an event specifically for LGBTQ+ youth, headspace approached new local community group Out Loud and Proud for assistance. Keen to come on board, Out Loud & Proud put together a fundraiser called ‘Bubbles & Bow Ties’ that raised funds directly to support headspace’s LGBTQ+ social group ‘Rainbow Youth’.

Rainbow Youth got together at their fortnightly catch up and workshopped the event and theme details - the result being Port Macquarie Queer Prom to be held at Rydges.
headspace are really excited to bring this event to the area and are welcoming interested youth from all across Australia to dress up, meet new people, have a good time and be themselves, albeit a little spooky given the theme is Halloween/ Rocky Horror Show.
The night is set to be a hoot with an array of colourful entertainers including a Drag performance by the Emcee for the night Sticky Waffles, Live DJ set from Mel, hair and make up demonstrations by Andy Pandy Hair Candy and Riley from Work of Artistry.
Add an interactive photo booth with props, food, drinks and super cool decorations – it’s going to be an amazing time!
Attendees also have an opportunity to take to the stage either strutting their stuff in the costume parade, or having a go at Baby Drag (those new or starting out in drag).
